Keene Methodist Church, Keene Nebraska.

Keene Methodist Church

Several families from the Bethania Evangelical Lutheran Church decided to start their own church. They formed the Ansgarius Synod. The Free Church in Keene was formed, later this group was split into Methodists and Free Church groups. The church was abandoned with all the other property of the church. Some of it may have been sold. The cemetery is in such sad condition. Many of the graves are sunk in, some of the stones were gone or broken. There were lots of gopher holes and weeds. It is too bad that the memories of these people have crumbled into such ruin.
